Bluff Plantation is staffed by experts known for their experience, compassion and success in helping patients overcome addiction. Our multidisciplinary team includes board-certified physicians and addiction medicine fellows, psychiatrists, psychologists, physician assistants, registered nurses, licensed therapists and counselors who have dedicated their careers to helping individuals achieve a lasting recovery.

William Jacobs, MD

Medical Director, Bluff Plantation

Dr. William S. Jacobs is triple board certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Addiction Medicine. A nationally renowned expert in treating addiction and pain disorders, he also serves as Chief of Addiction Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.

Daniel Lettenberger-Klein

Executive Director

Daniel Lettenberger-Klein, MS, LMFT, is Executive Director of Bluff Plantation, where he oversees business operations, recovery programming and ensures patient care and experience exceeds industry standards at our comprehensive residential treatment center. Daniel is also executive director of Bluff Plantation’s partner treatment centers.

Angela Dainas

Clinical Director

As Clinical Director at Bluff Plantation, Angela supervises the clinical care of patients in individual, family and group treatment. Angela describes her approach as motivational and strength-centered—meaning that she helps empower her clients with the life skills necessary to tackle any obstacles in their life. It is her goal to empower her clients to take an active role in their healing and in their recovery process. 

Katherine Harris, RN

Director of Nursing

A registered nurse with over 35 years of experience, Katherine Harris’s experience includes working as an operating room nurse, a nurse manager and a hospice nurse. After many years of providing care to patients at the end of life, she appreciates taking care of patients in addiction treatment who are getting a second chance at life. At Bluff Plantation, she manages clinical staff and oversees patient care.

Brett Daniel Kaylor, DO, MA

Staff Psychiatrist/Addiction Medicine Fellow

Brett Daniel Kaylor, DO, MA, is a Staff Psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine Fellow at Bluff Plantation. Dr. Kaylor provides psychiatric and substance use evaluations, medication management services and psychotherapy.

Jonathan Ek, MD

Addiction Medicine Fellow

Jonathan Ek, MD, is an Addiction Medicine Fellow at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in partnership with Bluff Plantation.

Joy Clubb, BA

Program Manager

Joy Clubb manages support staff, conducts quality assurance to ensure compliance with Joint Commission accreditation, and works to develop innovative programming to address patient needs. A former high school teacher, she dedicated her career to helping others after achieving her own successful recovery.

Teamwork and collaboration is at the heart of what we do at Bluff Plantation, from the assessment through discharge and aftercare. Led by Dr. Williams S. Jacobs, who is triple board certified in anesthesiology, pain medicine and addiction medicine, the Bluff Plantation team integrates evidence-based medical treatment into every aspect of addiction treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.

Our physicians and medical staff also work closely with our equine therapists, art therapists, movement therapists and counselors, who offer new perspectives and build connections with patients that help change lives. And not to go unmentioned are our chefs, whose nutritious meals help our patients rebuild their immune systems and regain their strength.

Medicine Physician

Dr. Jacobs is a physician and nationally renowned addiction expert who is certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine, a medical specialty board focusing on the treatment of alcohol, tobacco, drug and prescription pain medication addiction. He is also certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine.

Dr. Jacobs is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). He also serves as Chief of Addiction Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta.

Certified Addiction Case Manager

At Bluff Plantation, a Certified Addiction Case Manager will be assigned to work with you and manage your case from the start of treatment through discharge and aftercare. The case manager will collaborate closely with each person involved in your care to develop an addiction treatment plan unique to your needs.

Your Certified Addiction Case Manager will be with you each step of the way, monitoring progress and amending your plan as needed for maximum success. You will have daily interactions with your case manager, who is there to advocate for you and coach you through the stages of treatment at Bluff Plantation.

Continuing Care Coordinator

At Bluff Plantation, our goal is to ensure patients have the skills, resources and support they need to sustain sobriety and well-being for a lifetime. As part of the discharge plan, a Continuing Care Coordinator assists patients in identifying and connecting with resources available through Bluff Plantation and in the community. These resources assist patients with transitioning back into their everyday lives and provide support to maintain recovery.

The Continuing Care Coordinator communicates with external therapists, professional agencies, recovery coaches, potential sober housing facilities, and others who are crucial in helping patients maintain sobriety, face challenges, deal effectively with stress and continue to heal over the long-term.
