The Art of Breathing & Stretching
Yoga has widely been incorporated as a daily ritual to improve overall well-being. At Bluff Plantation, yoga is an important part of the addiction recovery process. Our yoga instructors will teach you the practice of breathing, stretching and building strength. Yoga can increase flexibility, calm the mind, improve concentration, and promote patience. It can also contribute to a greater sense of control in more acute states when experiencing cravings.
Improving Overall Strength
Bluff Plantation incorporates physical activities as part of your addiction recovery process. Chances are your addiction has taken a toll on your overall strength, endurance, and stamina. Exercising is key for addiction recovery.
In fact, research has shown that the brain experiences a profound positive effect on dopamine and serotonin receptors when we exercise. A regular exercise program can boost immunity, increase self-esteem, improve sleep, increase vitality, and promote a deepened awareness of the connection of mind and body.
Bluff Plantation offers many holistic modalities that offer specific benefits related to withdrawal and relapse prevention. Our program addresses all aspects of healing, from correcting nutritional deficiencies caused by substance abuse as well as addressing emotional, biological, and physical imbalances. For patients with chronic or acute pain issues, we use a variety of pain management techniques to teach alternative, drug free ways to obtain relief. Taking a holistic approach allows us to treat parts of the person that traditional medicine cannot.
